My artwork encompasses social, political and cultural issues. Often referencing the female experience and female rage, my work explores the emotional resonances between lived experience and fine art.
Currently studying for a BA in Fine Art at City and Guilds of London Art School

I started painting when I retired from teaching. It is now a very important part of my life and I love practising to improve my drawing skills. Pastels are my favourite medium and portraits, whether human or other animals, my favourite subjects.
I work in graphite, coloured pencil, pastel and I really love doing pyrography ( burning wood ). I do commissions mainly of pet portraits and memorial pieces.

I have always enjoyed painting, but never got further than 'O' level at school. It is only within the past couple of years that I have begun again, having a bit more time. I joined CAG for encouragement, and a local watercolour class. Watercolour is my favourite medium but I enjoy experimenting with others at CAG workshops. I also enjoy crochet, walking and coffee, and am frustrated by gardening but persevere!
