Here are some of the marvelous pieces of work created by some of our members lately

Alison Cole

"For me, growing up on the Suffolk coast, and in the heart of Constable country, meant that I was surrounded by art and artists. Like many, however, with advancing school years, my focus turned to academic studies. An inherent love of learning has taken me in many directions over the years and, as a result, I have maintained a portfolio career straddling academia whilst running a small private consultancy for more than two decades.

Since 2019 my love of painting has resulted in a craft room-cum-studio that is bursting with luscious new paints and art materials to feed a deep seated fascination for texture and colour. My rediscovery of painting has resulted in new friendships and joining CAG has introduced me to wonderful fellowship of artists and I continue to learn from so many."

Karen Bruce

"Some pieces with coloured pencil, graphite, pyrography and a couple of experiments with Yupo paper with acrylic inks and watercolour."

Nevil Hagon

Nevil is a career civil servant who has spent nearly 40 years working full time in Whitehall. He has been painting in watercolour for nearly as long, and still gets much pleasure from his hobby. Inspirations are various, originating with the great early 19th century watercolourists, to the 20th century eg John Singer Sargent's watercolours, and railway and travel poster artists of the prewar period. Nevil enjoys landscapes and cloudscapes; subjects include landscapes encountered on walks in the UK (often Sussex) and abroad, as well as marine, aviation and railway topics (usually the nost challenging to get right!).
